The
City of London is once again host
to the Picture Editors' Awards. Among local authorities the
City of London is unique; not only is it the oldest in the country,
combining its ancient traditions and ceremonial functions with
the role of an efficient modern authority, but it also operates
on a non-party political basis.
Its
responsibilities are diverse and provide a large number of
facilities for the benefit of London and the nation as a whole,
such as the Barbican Arts Centre and 10,000 acres of open
space in and around London. The Picture Editors' Awards ceremony is held
at the Guildhall in London. |
